In this video we are going to teach you how to measure and install a SecureView screen to a Trend OXXO sliding window
step 1 – Check measuring
Check measuring screens starts by noting the window location. But the most important detail to get right is the frame colour. Making all your screens the wrong colour is the most expensive mistake you can make.
step 2 – Check the window frame channel thickness
Check the window frame channel thickness where you are going to install your screen. Trend windows require an 11mm window screen. It is easier to measure if you remove the sliding window sash. Remember to store it in a safe place where it’s not likely to fall over.
step 3 – Measure the width
Measure the width from inside of the left mullion to the outside of the fin on the right side. Measurement is 1030mm. Deduct 5 mm for a manufacturing size of 1025mm.
step 4 – Measure the drop
Measure the drop from inside of the top channel to the top of the bottom fin. The opening size is 1160mm. Deduct 10mm for a manufacturing size of 1150mm.
TIP – You can also use the minimal measurement adding 10mm for the manufacture size
step 5 – Install the Security Screen
As the room location is on the first floor, and Trend window screens are installed from the outside but fixed from the inside it is easier to install the screen from a ladder. The second person can fix off internally. Carefully tuck one side behind the mullion, then the opposite side into the top channel.
step 6 – Maneuver the screen
Maneuver the screen twisting it in may be required. When the screen is in place, it should drop into the bottom track.
step 7 – Fix off the screen
The outside person can hold the screen in position, while the other inside one fixes off. Use a 9.5 mm security screws to fix off the screen to the mullion. Once fixed, re-insert the two sliding window sashes and vacuum the window channel and the area you installed. The customer now will be able to remove the window restrictors for a full window opening, providing more airflow and add safety for children.
